Last November the Cavagna Group finalized the acquisition of 100% of Bigas, a company specialized in the production of fuel system technologies (reducers, injectors, control units) for engines powered by LPG and CNG. The Cavagna Group had already held 45% of the Florence-based company’s shares

– Ponte San Marco (BS), 21/12/2015 – The decision to take over Bigas is coherent with the development strategies of the Cavagna Group, as it is increasingly interested in having more direct involvement in the field of engine conversion to LPG/CNG fuel.

The Cavagna Group offers the broadest and most reliable range of products in the field of technologies and systems for the control, regulation and storage of compressed gases. It employs over 900 people worldwide and it is made up of nine vertically integrated production companies in Italy, and nine other companies spread out across five continents. Thanks to its distribution network, the Cavagna Group is now selling its products in more than 140 countries worldwide.

Bigas was founded in 1968 by the Biagiotti family, and it designs, develops and manufactures fuel components and complete systems for engines powered by LPG and CNG. Bigas-branded products are renowned for their quality and reliability worldwide, ensuring an innovative approach to optimizing the use of these fuels in the automotive market.  In addition, they are cost-competitive and environmentally friendly.

There has always been synergy between the engineering and production divisions at Bigas and those at the Cavagna Group, in terms of both technology and marketing. The Florence-based plant is specialized in designing and manufacturing the entire front kit for converting vehicles with direct or sequential fuel injection systems and naturally aspirated engines.

Bigas is also a strategic partner of Greengear Global Ltd. (a British subsidiary of the Cavagna Group) for the supply of the Enerkit product line for the LPG conversion of small engines for the outdoor industry (examples include ride-on mowers, forklifts, snow blowers and sweepers).
